Crank Trigger Timing

Crank Trigger Timing

If your MADCAP Terminator Engine came with a Crank Trigger Ignition system please read these instructions. They are designed to help you change the timing and Phase the Rotor of your new engine.

To change your timing you will move the Magnet on the crank trigger sliding plate. Located on the FRONT of your engine. To ADVANCE the timing you will move the Magnet DOWN. To RETARD the timing up will move the Magnet UP. If you move the timing more than 2* you must check and adjust rotor phasing in the distributor. If for any reason your timing is more than 5* degrees off from the tag on your engine, CALL IMMEDIATLEY. DO NOT RUN ENGINE!

If you have developed a “Miss” during a run, first check your timing. If timing is good, double check rotor phasing. We have found that most “misses” are caused by ignition related components. IE: cap, rotor, magnet, crank trigger gap, spark plugs, etc. Please take your time and check ALL components.
